The uphill area features the cathedral which dates back to 1092, a Medieval motte and bailey castle and the Bailgate, an area known for independent shops and restaurants.

Venture down Steep Hill for the main shopping area and pop into Stokes High Bridge Café for lunch. Brayford Pool is the perfect area for an evening in the city, with plenty of chain restaurants, pubs and bars to enjoy, a cinema, and the Engine Shed events venue.
