February half term: holiday cottage top picks

Now the kids are back at school, it’s time to start planning for February half term. The perfect opportunity for a winter break, we have holiday cottages for small families right through to bigger groups – you can even bring the dog!

Winter at our locations

Wildlife

As our farms tend to be quieter in the winter, you might not see as much activity in the fields, but keep an eye out for our wonderful wildlife exploring the area. From roe deer to barn owls and pheasants to oyster catchers, there’s no limit to the animals you’ll see from your cottage window or while exploring the local area.

Winter walks

Don your walking boots or wellies and head out on an adventure to explore our farms. In total our locations offer 70km of footpaths, permissive routes and bridleways to enjoy. We also have a number of tailored walking routes, starting from your holiday cottage door. Our routes vary in difficulty, with something to suit most people from short 1-2 mile strolls to 4-5 mile hikes.

Maps are provided in some locations and can also be downloaded by clicking here.

City exploring

Despite sitting in rural locations, our holiday cottages are perfectly placed for visiting historic cities. From Bath’s famous Roman Baths to Lincoln Cathedral, there are plenty of incredible sites to visit. Or, if shopping is more your thing, head to the independent shops on offer.
