Ingredients
100g unsalted butter
125g golden caster sugar
1 large egg
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
200g self-raising flour
Pinch of salt
150g of chocolate chips
Method
- Preheat the oven to 170°C and line your baking tray with greaseproof paper.
- Beat the butter and sugar until pale and creamy. Crack in the egg, add the vanilla extract and mix well. Then sift in and fold through the flour and salt.
- Next, fold the chocolate chips into the cookie dough mixture.
- Roll the dough into balls and place, evenly spaced, on your lined baking tray. Cover and chill in the fridge for around 15 minutes.
- Flatten the dough sightly with your fingers, then place in the hot oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Serve and enjoy. But make sure you leave some on the side for Santa on Christmas Eve.
Did you know?
Buying British sugar made from sugar beet not only supports British farmers, but also reduces the food miles associated with imported sugar made from sugar cane.
At Dyson Farming, we grow enough sugar beet to produce 3,000t of refined British sugar each year.
