13 March 2025Have fun with the family this Easter without breaking the bank.

Stay with us in one of our spacious holiday cottages across Lincolnshire, West Berkshire or Gloucestershire and explore what the area has to offer. Check out our top picks for fun, budget-friendly days out below.
Lincoln
The Lincoln Castle Walls offer spectacular views across the city, with uninterrupted views of the historic cathedral. Walk the length of the walls to discover much of the castle’s past before exploring the grounds, seeing Magna Carta and stepping into the Victorian prison.
Then make your way to the Arboretum to enjoy a picnic among the spring blooms and explore the beautiful area with its stone sculptures and fountains.
Newbury
Enjoy an Easter nature walk in the idyllic unique surroundings of Greenham and Crookham Common. Unspoiled for centuries, the area was transformed into a major airfield during WWII and later the base of US Air Force cruise missiles before being transformed into an area for nature to thrive. You can learn more about the history of the area at the Control Tower museum and visitor centre.
Next, head into Newbury to the Wharf, and relax while watching boats pass on the canal. The ideal place to feed the ducks.
Stay at Ilsley Farm Barns, just a short drive from Oxford.
Bristol
A trademark of the city of Bristol, Clifton Suspension Bridge is a spectacular spot with incredible views. Begin with a wander over the bridge itself before heading to the unique spot known as Giant’s Cave. Not for the feint-hearted, descend the staircase through the cliffside before emerging on a balcony which offers unrivalled views of the bridge and River Avon.
On Easter Sunday, Bristol Harbour is home to a number of free seasonal events and is also a hotspot for street performers. It’s also home to some notable attractions which honour Bristol’s maritime past.

The Bath Skyline Walk begins in the city and takes you into the surrounding countryside with views across the city. The 3 mile circular walk is great for families.
More history and exploring can be found at Royal Victoria Park. Opened by an 11-year-old Princess Victoria in 1830, the beautiful grounds now feature a mini golf course and adventure playground.
