Morning:
Head to uphill Lincoln and the Bailgate, starting your day at Lincoln Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe. Admire the details in the stunning architecture and the intricacy of the stained glass windows.
Next, take the short walk to Lincoln Castle. Find your way around the castle walls, step back in time in the Victorian prison and take a closer look at one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta.
Afternoon:
Take your time to walk down the cobbled Steep Hill, taking in the independent shops, cafes and historic buildings as you stroll. When you make it to the bottom, there are plenty of shops for an afternoon of retail therapy.
Evening:
Now you’re probably ready to head home. Why not fire up the BBQ or pizza oven at your cottage to whip up an al fresco feast while you unwind from your day or exploration. Go local with produce from one of the many butchers and bakers Lincoln has to offer.
Sit back, relax and take in the view.
